The World Meeting of Popular Movements (WMPM) is a space of brotherhood among community-based organizations from the five continents. It is a platform built by various popular movements around the invitation of Francis to the poor and the peoples organized not to be resigned themselves and to be protagonists of (the process of) change.
The WMPM promotes the encounter culture with the purpose that the popular movements approach the fight, without haughtiness but with courage, without violence but with tenacity, from dignity, by nature and by social justice. In this regard, our appointment responds to the need to promote the organization of the excluded to build from below the human alternative to this exclusionary globalization which denies us to the sacred rights to the land, labor and lodging
The first Meeting of Popular Movements took place in Rome, Italy, during October the 27th, 28th and 29th of 2014.
The second Meeting was in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, between July the 7th and 9th of 2015.
And the third meeting will be in Rome, Italy, in November the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of 2016.
